MBS casino vs just playing online, is it even worth going down?
ok so me and my friends thinking of going MBS this weekend for the casino experience but the $150 entry levy for locals is killing me. plus we all not high rollers lah, just wanna have some fun. is it actually worth paying that just to sit at the tables when i can play online from home? feeling abit torn honestly

tbh the levy is the dealbreaker for me too. i went MBS twice and both times spent more on the levy + food + drinks than i actually gambled lol. the atmosphere is nice sure but if you not a high roller its really not worth the $150 imo. i mostly play on 1win from home now, no levy no dress code no travelling. minimum bets way lower also so you can stretch your money. that said if its a special occasion and you wanna feel the vibe once, go la. but not something you do every weekend

can confirm. went last month with my gf for our anniversary and honestly the levy + parking + drinks came up to like $250 before we even placed a single bet. the online route is way more chill and you keep more of your budget for actual play. we still had fun at mbs but definitely a once in a while thing

wait does the $150 levy last the whole day or is it per entry? like if i go out and come back do i pay again?

its valid for 24hrs from entry so you can go in and out on the same day no problem. but after 24hrs you gotta pay again. theres also an annual levy option like $3000 something if youre a frequent goer but who does that unless you very free and very rich haha

idk about the online thing man. how do you even trust these sites with your money? at least at mbs its a physical place, regulated, you can see your chips. online i always worry about whether they actually gonna pay out or just ghost me

fair concern but not all online sites the same lah. i thought the same at first. the ones with proper licensing and reviews are legit, ive cashed out multiple times no issue. just do your homework, read reviews, dont go for random sites promising 500% bonus and stuff. thats where people get burned

honestly my last mbs trip was such a letdown. tables were packed, waited ages for a seat, dealer was rushing everyone. and the min bet at the tables during peak was like $50 which for casual players like me is way too steep. felt like i was just there to lose money fast

yeah peak hours are rough but if you go on a weekday afternoon its actually quite empty and relaxed. i got a $25 min table last tuesday and the dealer was super friendly. timing makes a big difference tbh, dont go friday night and expect a good experience

fwiw for those comparing, mbs house edge on stuff like roulette and baccarat is the same math as online. the difference is really just the experience, the levy, and convenience. online usually has lower minimums and sometimes better odds on certain games because lower overhead. neither is objectively better, depends what youre after

one thing worth noting, tourists dont pay the levy at all so mbs is really designed to discourage locals from going often. thats literally the govt policy behind it. so as a local youre always paying that premium which changes the value calculation quite a bit compared to say someone visiting from overseas

same boat as top comment. i used to go mbs like once a month thinking it was fun but after adding up the levy over a year i was like bro this is crazy. switched to playing online mostly and only go mbs for birthdays or when got friends visiting. way better on the wallet and honestly i dont miss the crowds one bit
